Some of the protesters in the demonstration

Some Ghanaians living in London have taken to the streets in protest over what they claim to be the worsening living conditions in Ghana.

The protesters are also worried over the seeming delays in the presidential election petition at the Supreme Court.

On Friday, the group adorned in the colours of Ghana's national flag, chanted and sang on the streets of London, demanding a speedy trial and an end to corruption in the country.

“Under normal circumstances it doesn’t take three months for interlocutories to be served…We know even within this week the number of delay tactics the number of delay tactics the respondents have been trying to apply.”

"...So we know there are going to be delays that is why we are tryign to streghten the hands of the Supreme Court,” one of the protesters told Citi News.

“We want the whole world to know what is going on in Ghana,” another said.

Others insisted the 2012 December elections were not credible.

The protesters were not the least discouraged by the early showers. They poured out in their hundreds to make their voices heard.

“If those Ghanians in London have any better and meaningful things to contribute to Ghana's development then they should come do so here in Ghana. The demonstration they are doing out there is shameful.” Mohammed

“IT IS THE NPP BRANCH IN LONDON WHO HIT THE STREET AND NOT GHANAIANS, MOST GHANAIANS USE THEIR TIME WISELY. MOST OF THIS PEOPLE ON THE STREET ARE JOBLESS AND SOME OF THEM WANT TO COME HOME BUT HAVE NO TICKET MONEY AND THE MEANS TO COME. THEY SHOULD COME TO GHANA AND SHOW WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR THE COUNTRY IF THEY FEEL IT IS NOT THE WAY THEY WANT IT. SHAME ON YOU NPP LET THE WORLD KNOW IT IS THE BRANCH OF THE NPP AND NOT GHANAIANS. THE GOVERMENT IS ONLY FOUR MONTHS HE IS NOT GOD BUT MAN SHAME ON YOU.” Dada

“This a typical trademark of the busia-dankwa tradition and am not surprised.how long has this govt been in power?when kuffour used state resources to renovate his private residence where those so called ghanaians in london?when the npp govt were stealing ga lands and govt properties where those people.shame on them!nyame e ho mo oooo!” chesto van legacy

Paulina Opoku-Gyimah says: The disillusionment continues buttttttttttttttttt I truly don’t believe this protest or the hideous rumours and awful talk of an imminent ‘Coup d’état’ by people who should know better…. Is the way forward!!!

Like most I’m fervently praying for our great nation Ghana –and come against all the negativity and uncertainty and ugly talk of instability. We [Ghana] have come toooo far to descend into the demonic unrest that surrounds us in our region of Africa… and we must act but act accordingly ---with the knowledge and laws given us.

I believe that at the start of the kuffour regime/ term –there was also power shortages et al –so we will never have a government worthy of Ghana ---that we must accept but we must as a nation give this current government some time --- and if after that time things haven’t changed then maybe we need to go for some sort of referendum ---where we, the people can vote whether we want this present government to stay or to go etc, or, to vote for another election ---where all presidential candidates lay down their mandates in a clear and precise and transparent way…..

Honestly, I’ve been sooo sadden and disappointed by the state of affairs to the point where I have struggled to blog!!!

The last two months of persistent grumblings of: electricity and water shortages, high youth unemployment, certain opposition ‘government’ members verminous venting/ridiculing of the present government, and La crescendo………… –and probably the most disappointing news to come out of Ghana---that this present government feels God will only answer prayers in Israel –just shocking –has taken its toll ---but I still believe and have faith in God and believe that things will come together for Ghana –Amen!!!

I’m also uber disappointed that this ‘particular’ government hasn’t put any resources into ‘Northern Ghana’. -Because if any government was going to do ‘something’ in arid underdeveloped ‘Northern Ghana’ --it would be this present government ---and it looks like they have no intention to do anything for that region. But …I guess the same could be said of the kuffour government, ---that it did nothing for Kumasi or the Ashanti region (mercy)……

I don’t know the answers for all that Ghana is facing right now [we will all die and face our God someday –so we’ll most definitely find out then] but I believe maybe some of the three billion dollars loan from China (see past posts) can be used to address the power shortages --and as for youth unemployment, ---maybe we need to stop taking more loans and start asking the Chinese to build some of their factories here, ---so that our youth can have work to do and talk of, “chop-some-use-some”  can stop!!!

Do read the comments with regards to the above text via: http://politics.myjoyonline.com/pages/news/201304/104358.php --and please...... let’s stop this craziness!! That there are some African countries that have never wanted Ghana to have peace and we like -----fools are playing into their hands makes me sick to my stomach. Ghana will bounce back, continue to prosper and will be the first African country to shake off the ‘Third World’ shackle –Amen!!!!!
